WMS overhaul experience in high-volume warehouses
I’m Iuri Santos, a software and systems developer. My on-site work has involved overhauling warehouse management system (WMS) software and updating older systems in high-volume warehouses.
When a stock figure needs correcting, I want to know where it first went wrong. I compare the records with what the warehouse team saw on shift. That can help distinguish a missed entry from an update that failed between systems.
API and stock-system integration
I have extensive experience with application programming interfaces (APIs), which let one system exchange information with another. That includes connecting older software to newer applications.
If an order is entered twice, I start with the handover. Which system owns the order? When does the warehouse need the update, and how will someone know if it fails? The answers determine what the connection needs to do.
Software development in Lincolnshire and the East of England
I’m based in Sleaford, close to food processors around Anwick and Ruskington in North Kesteven. Across the UK Food Valley, from Spalding to Boston, a useful software question is how stock records follow goods from processing into storage and despatch.
My work also covers the East of England, including Peterborough and Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. For projects elsewhere in the UK, we can work remotely where system access, testing and conversations with the people using the software allow it.
TabulaWMS private beta
I also develop TabulaWMS, warehouse management software currently in private beta. It’s a separate project from the software I develop for individual businesses.
